Netflix's Squid Game has not only achieved global fame—it also took home numerous trophies! For its most recent feat, the drama's lead stars just made history at the 28th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

ICYDK, the award-giving body recognizes the best TV and film performances by actors across the world. The 28th SAG Awards happened on February 27 in Santa Monica, California, and the cast members of Squid Game were invited. This includes Lee Jung Jae, Jung Ho Yeon, Park Hae Soo, Lee Joo Ryoung, and Anupam Tripathi.

Jung Jae was awarded Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series while Ho Yeon took home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series trophy. They're actually the first Asian actors to achieve these. Daebak!

Veteran actor Jung Jae has a long list of awards under his belt and the recognition he received from SAG is one of his biggest achievements to date. The other nominees for this category are actors Brian Cox (Succession), Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), Kieran Culkin (Succession), and Jeremy Strong (Succession). When he accepted his trophy, Jung Jae *revealed* that he wrote something on a piece of paper but he can't read it anymore. He then thanked the SAG Awards, the fans of Squid Game, and his co-stars.

As for Ho Yeon, Squid Game is actually her first acting stint (she started her career as a model) and it immediately gave her an award! Her acceptance speech made the audience teary-eyed when she mentioned her goal: "First of all, thank you so much. I have seen many of the actors in the audience through the TV screen, dreaming of becoming an actress one day while watching you all. Thank you for making me dream and opening the door for me. I love you my Squid Game crew!" For this category, Ho Yeon bested Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale), Sara Snook (Succession), and Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show).
