The clip features six deleted scenes from Hello, Love, Goodbye: Joy’s wish for Marydale; Joy rethinking her decision to move to Canada; Mrs. Chung trying to comfort Joy; Joy, Sally, and Gina looking for Marydale; Ethan and Joy going out for a walk; and Ethan shedding tears of “Joy.”
In the deleted scene where Mrs. Chung tries to comfort Joy, the latter comes home looking distraught. Mrs. Chung sees Joy and you expect her to give a scolding because she utters the words: “Too late.” Joy responds with, “Too tired. Not now, Mrs. Chung, please.” Instead of scolding her, Mrs. Chung comforts Joy with a drink and gives her some grandmotherly love.
Fans of the film believe that this scene should have been included in the film, together with a scene where Ethan and Joy go out for a walk. The two characters cross the street hand-in-hand in slow motion while Moira Dela Torre and Jason Marvin’s “Ikaw At Ako” plays in the background.
Released in July 2019, Hello, Love, Goodbye is the country’s highest-grossing film of all time, raking in over P880 million. Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, Hello, Love, Goodbye tells the story of two Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who fall in love in Hong Kong.
