Today's dose of kilig is brought to you by Sue Ramirez and her beau, Javi Benitez. In February 2020, dating rumors between Sue and Javi began to surface. Though Sue only confirmed their relationship in August, the two never denied it. According to the couple, this was a deliberate move on their part. In a video called "The Hows of Love," posted on Star Magic's YouTube channel, Javi simply said, "Hindi kami nag-deny. Kasi 'pag totoo, tsaka mahal mo yung tao, kailangan sabihin mo sa mundo."
In the same video, we actually find out how their love story began. They first met when Javi was looking for a leading lady for a movie and their mutual friend mentioned Sue. He wanted to meet up for Dinner but at the time, the actress was busy with multiple projects, balancing Cuddle Weather, A Soldier's Heart, Dead Kids, and Finding Agnes. So instead, Javi went to Sue's concert rehearsal.
Her first impression of him? "First time ko siyang makita ever. Ang tangkad pala ni Javi. Cute din pala. Mukha pala siyang action star." While Javi said na sobrang madaldal talaga si Sue (his words, not ours), haha! "Sobrang dami [niyang] energy lagi." Their *first* date naman was at a burger place (which he claims has the best burger in Manila).
As for the courting process, it was subtle and sweet. Sue said that she usually drives herself to places (read: wala na siyang driver); Javi offered to do that kasi "on the way" naman daw. She suddenly realized that the shoot location was in Tanay, she lives in Quezon City, and he lives in Makati. In short, hindi on the way!
When asked why they're in love, Javi said, "Love is a choice." Sue agreed saying, "Araw-araw, pipiliin mong mahalin yung tao. Kailangan kahit nakikita mo yung mali at nakikita mo yung panget, pinipili mo pa rin siyang mahalin araw-araw."
