This year, Sue Ramirez is starring in her biggest project to date! She's part of the lead cast of The Broken Marriage Vow, the Philippine remake of the British series Doctor Foster and the South Korean drama A World Of Married Couple. Sue was cast as ~the other woman~, Lexy Lucero, who will shatter the idyllic marriage of power couple David Illustre (Zanjoe Marudo) and Dra. Jill Illustre (Jodi Sta. Maria).
What makes this series even more special for Sue, though, is that she'll finally be able to work with her idol Jodi Sta. Maria. You see, Sue happens to be a fan of Jodi and looked up to her even before she joined showbiz in 2010. In an interview with ABS-CBN, the 24-year-old actress revealed that she had a major fangirling moment when Jodi was starring in the 2009 teleserye Tayong Dalawa.
So what did Sue do? She actually biked all the way to Jodi's taping location just to see her: "I remember the first time nakita ko si Jodi Sta.
When Sue got the call that she was cast in the coveted role, she "broke down crying" because she couldn't believe she was chosen for it. She feels the pressure, of course, "pero more excited ako than pressured," she said.
The Broken Marriage Vow will be directed by Connie Macatuno and is slated to air on ABS-CBN within the year. Meanwhile, you can read our honest review of A World Of Married Couple here.
