You guys, the *ultimate* pop culture moment happened at the 2023 VMAs on September 13, 2023. Honestly, consider us emotional wrecks for the rest of the week. If, like us, you were up all night refreshing the gram, Twitter, and TikTok for updates and news on the major music event, you'll have no doubt seen the already iconic image of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift basically just oozing BFF goals.

Taking to their grid, the VMAs account dropped the pic of Tay and Sel embracing as they smiled and posed for the camera. While Selena donned a show-stopping halter-neck red floral gown, Taylor went for an elegant fitted black number as she affectionately placed her arm around the "Single Soon" singer. Selena also had her arms tightly wrapped around Taylor's waist as she offered up the biggest smile for the snap.

But what made the moment even more special (and we're ngl, made us feel pretty old too) was the picture they included on the next slide, which showed the pair posing for a photo at the same awards 10 years agowhile of coursestill giving major bestie vibes. "Sharing this side by side of @taylorswift & @selenagomez at the 2023 and 2013 #VMAs so we can all cry together," the caption read. (Also, is it just us, or are these two literally aging backward?)

Naturally, we weren't the only ones crying alongside them, as a whole flock of fans took to the comments section to completely lose it over the millennial nostalgia.

"The most iconic moment," one person said, as another penned: "Yup think I'm gonna cry."

"The best duo," a third typed as a fourth called for the pair to finally collaborate musically.

"We need a collaboration so baaaadddd," they said.

OK, it's all too much. We're firmly O.O.O for the foreseeable until we can pull ourselves together.
