In January 2019, Anne Curtis revealed that Marco Gumabao is her newest leading man for the upcoming film Just A Stranger.
Now, we get our first glimpse of the film as Anne and Marco shared the film's teaser trailer on their respective Instagram accounts on July 19.
The trailer starts with Mae (Anne) in a confessional as she utters the words, “Bless me, father, for I have sinned.” The trailer reveals scenes of sunny Portugal which cuts to Mae meeting Jericho (Marco) for the first time. Back in the confessional, Mae continued, “I’ve been cheating on my husband with a man half my age.” The trailer reveals several scenes where things got steamy between the two characters and it gave viewers an idea of the kind of lives the characters lead.
Building up excitement for the film, Anne shared a steamy picture on Instagram as she captioned her post with, “We’re our darkest secret.”
Parts of the film were shot in Portugal, as seen in Anne and Marco's Instagram posts in May 2019.
That same month, filming wrapped up in Pampanga. The actress wrote, “Excited for all of you to meet my character, Mae. She made me go back to my core and how I’ve missed that.” Rooting for her co-star, Anne continued, “Also, be sure to watch out for @gumabaomarco. Definitely, the first time [seeing] him like this on the big screen.”
This isn’t Anne and Marco’s first team-up. In 2013, they worked on a TV series called Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, and in 2018 when they both starred on the film Aurora.
Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, Just A Stranger will be released on August 21, 2019.
