Yes, we fall head over heels with the love teams in rom-coms, but there are times when third wheels steal the spotlight, too! Third wheels in movies are usually the devoted friends who have no romantic feelings for either of the leads. In fact, they're more relatable than the bidas most of the time (shoutout to all the single and happy people out there)!

Here are five of the most lovable third wheels from recent rom-coms:

1. Jason Ty from I'm Drunk I Love You (2017)

Jason Ty (Dominic Roco) is the friend who keeps on telling Carson (Maja Salvador) to get over her feelings for Dio (Paulo Avelino): "Time check! Umaasa ka pa rin." In the film, he accompanies Carson and Dio on a trip to La Union right before their college graduation and he makes Carson enumerate all the stupid things she did in the name of love. Jason also finds romance at the beach!

2. Nina from My Ex And Whys (2017)

Nina (Karen Reyes) does everything in her power to prevent Cali (Liza Soberano) from falling for Gio (Enrique Gil) again! She's a waitress at the cafe where blogger Cali is a regular customer and helps come up with a plan to humiliate Gil and prove that he's a no-good playboy. Her ~bitterness~ and the way she protects Cali will remind you of your most loyal friends!

3. Macha from Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi (2018)

Macha (Angellie Saño) is the small-but-terrible best friend of Aries (Jameson Blake). As Aries devotes all his precious time to entertain Norma (Sue Ramirez) and distract her from her ~illness~, Macha good-naturedly tags along. She's also privy to Aries' hidden feelings for Norma, which started from the very first moment he saw her! Ever-supportive Macha loves Chocnut and she's one of the characters who made the movie so wonderful.

4 & 5. Juan Miguel Severo and Ria Atayde from The Hows Of Us (2018)

Okay, so technically they're third and fourth wheels, but it's just adorable how very different their views are when it comes to George (Kathryn Bernardo) and Primo's (Daniel Padilla) love story. Awee (Ria) is all for George giving Primo a second chance, while Mikko (Juan Miguel) wants her to get over him so she could get on with her dream to be a doctor.
