Tina Fey: 'The Oscars Were Hollywood Bullshit'

But she did like Leo's speech though.

Actress Tina Fey is grateful she lives in New York City because she doesn't have to deal with Hollywood's double standards.

The former 30 Rock star was a guest presenter at the Academy Awards on Sunday, but she quickly grew irritated with all of the messages of social activism her fellow celebrities were trying to convey.

Tina felt it was hypocritical to hear about topics including "corporate greed" from a room full of "rich people," while she was also just overwhelmed by the sheer number of issues brought up at the Los Angeles ceremony.

"I'm so glad I live here [in New York City] because halfway through [the Oscars], I was like, 'This is some real Hollywood bulls**t'," she tells U.S. radio host Howard Stern. "Everyone's telling me what to do. People are yelling at me about rape and corporate greed but really it's climate change. I was like, 'Guys, pick a lane. Like we're going to fix everything tonight?' And also, like, 'You're all rich. Why are you yelling at me about corporate greed?'"

However, Tina did enjoy some moments of the night, like host Chris Rock's opening monologue, taking on Hollywood's diversity dispute.

"I thought his monologue was fantastic," she says. "That's the tricky thing about shows like that—you don't get a dress rehearsal. You don't get that opportunity [to test jokes on the audience]."

She also praised Leonardo DiCaprio's Best Actor acceptance speech about climate change.

"I always am psyched when someone is articulate with those things because, let's face it, actors are very stupid," she laughs. "But he's smart and his speech was so cogent."

And she defended The Revenant star against his playboy reputation.

"That doesn't affect the green footprint, no matter how many women you [sleep with]," she adds.

Tina previously joked about Leonardo's penchant for dating supermodels when she hosted the Golden Globes with Amy Poehler in 2014, stating, "Like a supermodel's vagina, let's all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio." However, the actor was not offended and insisted, "Any joke from them is OK in my book."
