I'm the kind of person who listens to sad songs whenever I'm down. Some people find it weird, but honestly, it makes me feel less alone when I'm going through something. Not only do I like listening to sad music, but I also like watching sad films aka full-on tearjerkers. If you're like me and you've gone through every mainstream movie that'll leave you ugly crying, you should check out these five films that guarantee to give you the ~*feels*~:

  1. Comet (2014)

    What it's about:
Dell and Kimberly unexpectedly meet during a meteor shower while Kimberly was on a date with another man. The film shows the ups and (mostly) downs of their six-year relationship.

    Heartbreaking line:
"I feel like I'm in the wrong world. 'Cause I don't belong in a world where we don't end up together."

  2. The Light Between Oceans (2016)

    What it's about:
Tom and Isabel have been trying to have a baby for so long. Their prayers are answered when an infant is washed up on the shore near the lighthouse that Tom maintains. They soon meet the child's biological mother and realize that they have to decide if they should keep the child or not.

    Heartbreaking line:
"You only have to forgive once. To resent, you have to do it all day, every day, all the time. You have to keep remembering the bad things. It's too much work."

  3. Like Crazy (2011)

    What it's about:
During college, Jacob and Anna fall in love and, at first, everything seems perfectuntil Anna violates the terms of her student visa and is forced to return to England. They try hard to maintain their long-distance relationship despite the changes that both of their lives undergo.

    Heartbreaking line:
"I didn't realize it would sometimes be more than whole, that the wholeness was a rather luxurious idea because it's the halves that halve you in half. I didn't know; don't know about the in-between bits of it. The gory bits of you and the gory bits of me."

  4. What Maisie Knew (2012)

    What it's about:
The film revolves around the life of Maisie, a six-year-old girl who is in the middle of a custody battle after her parents get a divorce. Her parents are very self-absorbed and somehow use her to prove they are more deserving to be the parent over the other. They eventually re-marry, and with this, Maisie hopes to find some sort of warmth but ends up feeling damaged instead.

    Heartbreaking lines:
"Can I tell you a secret?"

    "I married him for you."

  5. The Greatest (2009)

    What it's about:
After the death of their son, Bennett, the Brewers find an unexpected guest on their doorstepit's Rose, their son's pregnant girlfriend. The film tells the story of love, loss, grief, and how you can find comfort in the most unexpected situations.

    Heartbreaking line:
"And sometimes he would look at me, sometimes he would turn away, and sometimes it would be so intense that we would start looking at each other from the very beginning of the steps. And then on the last day... he talked to me. And everything he said was exactly how I pictured it would be. And he felt the way he felt in my dreams and I thought everything was happening exactly the way it was supposed to. And I was the happiest I've ever been."
