On Tuesday, November 10, Vice Ganda and partner Ion Perez flew to Balesin Island with their friends for a quick break. They didn't realize there was another typhoon approaching the country, after Typhoon Rolly devastated the Bicol region earlier this month. The group's vacation was short-lived because Typhoon Ulysses made landfall in Quezon province the next day.
The trip started out great, with a tour of their beachfront villa (#25, which is also when the couple celebrates their monthsary).
They even ran into Moira Dela Torre, who was staying in the next villa.
The following day, they felt the strong winds and rain.
That night, the power went off for a second but was restored a moment later by what they assumed to be a generator. Vice shares that Moira already transferred to another villa because their roof started leaking from the damage. Still, they kept calm and waited for further instructions.
They later received a call from management saying that they need to be evacuated. The group was picked up by bus and transferred to Toscana cottage, which is located farther away from the beach. Soon after, they had to move again because there was no power and running water in the cottage.
The morning after, Vice recorded the damage in Balesin. (He started a donation drive to help the communities that were severely affected by the typhoon.)
