Actress and beauty queen Winwyn Marquez recently went viral when a video clip of her resurfaced as she strutted down the stage of the Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 pageant where she was eventually crowned as the winner.
Winwyn reposted the video on her Instagram account and wrote, "People have been tagging me non-stop sa video na 'to, so might as well post it on my feed again."
Pageant fans have been clamoring for Winwyn's return to the pageant scene with Miss Universe Philippines having recently opened the applications for Miss Universe 2021.
In response, the 29-year-old beauty queen posted never-before-seen photos of her time joining beauty pageants. Winwyn wrote, "I am overwhelmed with all your messages, grabe, non-stop. 2015 and 2017 ako sumali… Ngayon 2021 na at hanggang ngayon ganyan pa din kayo."
"Thank you so much pero hanggang sa pag-support na lang ako sa mga candidates natin and sa mga gusto sumali ng pageants," she continued.
Winwyn also confirmed that she will no longer be joining pageants: "Minsan, magbubukas talaga tayo ng ibang chapter sa buhay natin and need mag-move on sa ibang bagay but sabi nga 'di ba, once a Miss Philippines, always a Miss Philippines."
Apart from taking part in beauty pageants, Winwyn graduated with a Teacher's Certificate at the Southville International School in 2019. She also graduated at the top of her class as a Marine Reservist in November 2020.
