Winwyn Marquez admitted that she really wanted to be part of the GMA-7 remake of the 2016 Korean drama Descendants of the Sun.

On April 22, the GMA Network officially announced that Dingdong Dantes will top-bill the Philippine version of Descendants of the Sun.

Following the announcement, a netizen mentioned Winwyn in a tweet saying that she could play the role of Moira (Yoon Myeong-Joo in the Korean version), a military doctor who is a close friend of the lead characters and was originally played by Kim Ji Won.

The netizen also mentioned Rocco Nacino and Derek Ramsay in the tweet saying, "Now all we need is @nacinorocco's confirmation as Diego and @wynmarquez as Moira. Derek Ramsay can play as Argus. @gmanetwork @OfficialGMAHOA"

Winwyn quoted the tweet and expressed her wish to play one of the characters in Descendants of the Sun.

However, the beauty queen-actress said that she cannot be part of the remake because she is doing the upcoming afternoon drama series, Dahil sa Pag-ibig.
