For the first time since March 2020, movie theaters and micro cinemas across Metro Manila have finally reopened—with safety protocols in place, of course. Now, while we've all been itching to watch a blockbuster on the big screen for nearly two years now, we understand that some may be apprehensive about being locked up in a dark room full of strangers during a global pandemic. Well, it looks like there's now a way for you to watch films the old-fashioned way with just your friends and family: SM Cinema is letting you book an entire movie theater at a budget-friendly price this holiday season!

How to book SM Cinemas in Metro Manila for private screenings this holiday season:
To book a theater, all you have to do is sign up online to reserve a slot and choose your preferred date and location. The promo is open to all fully vaccinated individuals from now until December 24 and will only apply to Director's Club theaters. You can choose from one of eight available cinemas in Metro Manila, namely SM Aura, SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM Grand Central, SM BF Parañaque, SM Southmall, and SM Fairview.
Prices for each booking will depend on the time you book the cinema and the number of people who will watch. For off-peak hours (Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to five p.m.), all cinemas will be available for as low as P5,200 for a total of 12 people.
For peak hours (Monday to Thursday 5:01 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. and all day Friday to Sunday), bookings start at P7,700 for 18 people, but keep in mind that the prices and capacity limits will differ depending on which cinema you book. In the event that you'd like to add an additional person to the set number of allowed individuals, you may do so for an additional fee of P450 per head, granted that the total number of people inside the cinema follows the Inter-Agency Task Force's capacity limits for cinemas.
Here are the basic rates for booking SM Cinemas this holiday season:

Keep in mind that reservations must be made and paid four days prior to the date of the private screenings. Food and drinks are not allowed in the cinema, but drinking water may be brought inside in case of possible emergencies.
