It turns out that your moments of adorable distraction at work are good for your productivity. According to a study published in the journal Computers in Human Behavior and featured by CBS News, watching cat videos can boost the viewer's mood.
The study tapped 7,000 participants via social media and found that they experienced less anxiety, sadness, and annoyance after watching videos of cute furballs. Study author and assistant professor at Indiana University's Media School, Jessica Gall Myrick, explains, "Even if they are watching cat videos on YouTube to procrastinate or while they should be working, the emotional pay-off may actually help people take on tough tasks afterwards."
So if your boss catches you laughing at cat videos (like this one below), tell her it's good for your health!
