In honor of the US Supreme Court's decision to legalize gay marriage, YouTube has released an emotional video to celebrate the historic moment. It's a beautiful montage of people young and old speaking out in support of marriage equality, and wholeheartedly backing the LGBT community.
The footage opens with YouTuber Ingrid Nilsen's emotional coming out video, which made headlines for being so inspiring, brave and honest. We also see other well-known vloggers—Troye Sivan, Joey Graceffa and Connor Franta—take to the camera to share their story and tell their viewers that they are gay.
Ellen Page's coming out speech at Time To Thrive is included, alongside a stream of incredible footage that shows people talking about why marriage equality is so important. Suddenly these clips feel even more powerful in light of the new ruling.
YouTube wrote: "Over the last 10 years, everyone from moms to presidents have uploaded videos in support of LGBT awareness, to stand up against bullying and discrimination, and to say together, as a community, that marriage equality matters.
"That's why we are so excited by the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to recognize the constitutional right of all couples to marry. In recognition of Pride Month, and of this historic decision, we want to celebrate the many individuals and communities that have helped inspire change.
