In case you missed it, Camille Prats and husband VJ Yambao shared their fitness routine and everything they've done for their health during the pandemic. You may have noticed that Camille's been extra dedicated to her exercises and overall well-being—and that's deliberate. In a new YouTube video, the mother of three shared that they wanted to be physically healthier because having a strong immune system is even more important nowadays. On top of that, they have three very active children and working out gives them more energy to take care of the toddlers.
After a year of consistent circuit training, both Camille and VJ said that it's easier for them to move around, mas mabilis kumilos, at mas magaan yung daily activity. When they work out, they push each other and make sure their forms are correct to avoid injuries. But it actually took them *months* to get to where they are in their fitness journey. The secret? Consistency and commitment! "One percent increase each day is still progress," they said. At the beginning of the pandemic, the couple only used their body weight because they were still learning proper form.
But now, their workouts are usually a lot of cardio with weights, focusing on endurance and conditioning. Camille used to opt for five- to 10-pound weights but VJ encouraged her to lift heavier ones—she really saw results afterwards. Apart from that, Camille also does Barre3, which consists of three workouts: barre, yoga, and pilates: "It helps with flexibility, toning, and lengthening."
But alam naman nating part of the work when it comes to your health is done in the kitchen, so in-adjust din ni Camille yung diet niya. She does intermittent fasting, so in the morning, she enjoys a cup of coffee and works out with an empty stomach. Her first meal is around lunch time, and she usually eats chicken or fish with a lot of vegetables. And yes, with rice! Hindi niya dine-deprive yung sarili niya of kanin.
