Here’s our newest fitspiration! Megastar Sharon Cuneta recently surprised fans and friends with her flattering figure, a dreambod that took the actress 7 years to achieve. 

ICYDK, the actress and singer appeared on E.A.T, the new noontime show hosted by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon. In her OOTD post on Instagram, the hip mom of four wowed her fans with her new look. 

This reminds us of her interview with Ogie Diaz earlier this year, when she shared her fitness secret: to go slowly but surely. 

In February 2023, Sharon revealed her “kain ibon” technique, a unique approach to mindful eating. Her technique centers around reducing food intake gradually, allowing the body to adapt and thrive on fewer calories.

"Ang ginawa ko, slowly but surely. Ang pinaka-effective sa ‘kin—kasi iba-iba ’yan sa iba’t-ibang tao—kapag ang tiyan mo, nasanay na ganitong kapuno, mahihirapan kang mag-dyeta," she said.

"Pag nasanay na ang tummy mo na konti lang, disiplinahin mo na ’yung sarili mo. It will really help. Parang pag nasanay s’yang konti lang, konti lang hahanapin mo.So ang effective sa akin, small meals kahit six times a day. Pero very small. Minsan nga, tikim-tikim lang ako,” she said.

Sharon's decision to embrace the "kain ibon" technique reflects her commitment to nurturing a healthy relationship with food and her body. Scared of having a heart attack, she consciously cut back on her food portions and tried to recalibrate her body's expectations. Sharon also revealed she does not go on crash diets anymore. 

"Ang nangyayari sa metabolism, nasira. Kapag nag-crash diet ka, ang rebound weight, napakabilis bumalik, ’tapos doble no’ng nawala mo. So ’yun ang laging nangyayari sa ‘kin noon,” she said. 

The 57-year-old also does not monitor her weight too often, as this could be discouraging. Instead, she consistently decreased food intake and looked forward to going a size smaller.

"Kasi pag nagwe-weigh ako, isa pa ’yan, parang nadi-discourage ako kapag nag-gain ako ng 1 pound, 2 pounds. So nag-stop ako mag-weigh. Pero nalalaman ko pag sinusukatan ako for a new gown or a new outfit, or pag namimili ako. Oh, from large, you’re medium na ang top ko. Doon ko nakikita,” she said.

In a post on her Instagram last May, Sharon expressed joy on having her dream body, which she said was a result of her diet discipline for the past 7 years.
