How Dakota Johnson Got Her Body Ready For 'Fifty Shades Freed'

When you watch any of the movies from the Fifty Shades franchise, do you sit there thinking, "Wow. She's naked. She's REALLY naked."? Because as much as I want to say that I'm an adult and that nudity doesn't surprise me, it does, and I'm amazed by all the actors and actresses out there who confidently perform naked. 

While filming the latest Fifty Shades of Grey installment, Dakota Johnson made the rowing machine her bitch. Her on-set trainer, Ramona Braganza, told PopSugar that they "focused on posture, for length on camera." In general, the moves they kept going back to were geared towards "shaping shoulders and arms, and accentuating a small, tight waist."

So why the rowing machine, you ask? Because it's a head-to-toe workout. Not only is it great for "warming up the back, shoulders, and arms while using core muscles to stabilize the body," you also exercise your legs and glutes!

Here's Dakota's exact routine:

  • Warm up for two minutes at an easy row pace.
  • Begin sprint intervals: 30-second sprint (by pushing and pulling harder), then 30-second rest.
  • Repeat five times = one set. Do three sets total!
