How Gal Gadot Trained For Her 'Wonder Woman' Role

Girl knows how to kick ass.

Much like how Margot Robbie was the only redeeming thing about Suicide Squad, everyone was relieved to see Gal Gadot in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But the cherry on top of this DC-flavored cake is the fact that Wonder Woman gets her own movie.

Before Wonder Woman, however, you probably only know Gal from the Fast and the Furious franchise. Even more impressive though is that this Israeli beauty served as a soldier of the Israel Defense Forces for two years (so yes, she’s an actual badass). That said, Gal has always been about living healthy: “I’m a big fan of a good diet and healthy lifestyle. It's important to eat a lot of vegetables, drink a lot of water, and stay active. I believe that what we put in our bodies will reflect on the outside.”

When she landed the role of Wonder Woman, the fans criticized Gal for being “too skinny.” They didn’t think she was a suitable representation of the Amazonian warrior, who’s more on the muscular side. But Gal took it all in stride. To develop a thicker, stronger physique, she trained with Mark Twight, the same guy Henry Cavill worked with for Man of Steel.

Gal also revealed that her fitness regimen includes kung fu, kickboxing, sword fighting, jiu-jitsu, weightlifting, and pilates.
