Unless you’re a morning a person, you probably clicked on this article to see if there are actually good enough reasons for sacrificing that extra hour of sleep in the morning. Is starting your day with a workout actually better for you? Here’s what we’ve found:
1. Take advantage of those hormones!
Your hormones, especially testosterone, are at their peak in the morning! These can help pump you up during a workout.
2. There are less distractions in the morning.
In the morning, there aren’t as many people fighting for your attention. You don’t have as many responsibilities and the pressure of your to-do list isn't as daunting. You can focus on yourself!
3. That said, you can get it over with!
Realistically, it’s harder to be excited about working out after an excruciatingly long day in the office. All you want to do is hang out with friends, or if we’re being honest, go home and watch TV.
4. Coffee will keep you going.
As if you needed another reason to love coffee! According to the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, coffee helps you during a workout by boosting your endurance.
5. It will force you to eat breakfast.
Though there are several studies out there claiming that breakfast isn’t exactly the most important meal of the day, starting out with a full meal in the morning will most definitely curb your unhealthy cravings later in the day. Working out in the morning will make sure that you sit down and eat something, whether you’re a breakfast person or not.
6. Working out will keep your self-esteem high!
Yes, working out releases endorphins that keep us feeling upbeat but exercising in the morning equips you with a "boost of self-worth for the entire day."
