The comfort in which our favorite characters fall in love makes us wonder if there have been moments when they genuinely ~*had feelings*~ for each other.
Ahead, we round up 5 K-drama pairings that made is feel *kilig* in their respective shows, who have amazing off-screen chemistry, too.
K-Drama Couples With Amazing Off-Screen Chemistry
1. Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji
It's Okay To Not Be Okay, one of the most popular K-Dramas of 2020 featuring Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji, sparked fans' interest with behind-the-scenes footage revealing how natural their chemistry flowed.
Moon Gang Tae (Soo Hyun), a caretaker at a psychiatric hospital, meets Ko Moon Young (Ye Ji), an antisocial children's book author. They go on an emotional rollercoaster before understanding each other's extraordinary traumas. Their on-screen chemistry is just *chef’s kiss* because of the romantic tension between them.
Soo Hyun and Ye Ji are constantly playful, whether it's behind the scenes or in between shots. Since the beginning, the stars have been quite comfortable with each other and have shown natural off-screen chemistry. When the director told them to take cute selfies together for a scene, they had so much fun that they didn’t even hear him say “cut!” LOL, so cute!
2. Song Kang and Han So Hee
Song Kang and Han So Hee star as art students in Nevertheless. Park Jae Eon (Song Kang) has commitment issues, while Yoo Na Bi (So Hee) refuses to believe in love after a traumatic past. As they spend more time together, the two begin to change their notions about love.
Even when they're not filming, Song Kang and So Hee are always seen hanging out together in behind-the-scenes videos. Some fans even believed they might have ~dated~ because their relationship appeared so real and sincere even after the drama! However, the assumptions regarding their relationship status were never addressed.
3. Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin
This list won’t be complete without real-life married couple Son YeJin and Hyun Bin!
It's been a while since Crash Landing On You aired, but fans still can't help but remember all of the ~kilig~ moments Hyun Bin and Ye Jin shared as Captain Ri and Yoon Se Ri. Their chemistry was so obvious during press interviews when the two constantly expressed their love for each another. How adorable!
Fans celebrated when the two confirmed their relationship, and just a few years later, they *officially* tied the knot and had welcomed their first child. Their love story is straight out of a fairytale!
4. Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won
Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won had amazing chemistry on the set of Fight For My Way, which follows four childhood friends as they struggle with the difficulties of adulthood. Their characters being the best of friends before they ~actually~ got into a relationship made their love story even more exciting. And the way they look at each other? Instant butterflies!
Seo Joon and Ji Won are close friends IRL, which fueled suspicion that the two were actually dating. Even the show’s director was in awe of their relationship off set! “They have a good chemistry in real life, and they’re having a lot of fun while filming,” director Lee Gun Joon said in an interview.
However, Seo Joon denied the rumors and said that they’re just really good friends. Aww!

5. Choi Woo Shik and Kim Da Mi
These two stars just proved that they can both work as lovers and enemies! Three years after filming The Witch: The Subversion (where they fought a lot, TBH), they worked together again in the romantic drama Our Beloved Summer, which follows the story of two high school sweethearts who were reunited as adults. The couple's realistic portrayal of the romantic coming-of-age story sparked rumors online that they were dating IRL.
During filming of the latest show, the two discussed how they made their on-screen relationship as natural and real as possible. Turns out, they’re just really good friends who are comfortable with each other!
