***Spoilers ahead. Skip if you haven’t watched Marry My Husband Episode 7 onwards!
Dear Soo Min,
I don’t even know where to start. At first, I thought you were the typical “other woman.” I’ve seen many Kdramas and teleseryes with this trope. Having you as Kang Ji Won’s best friend sure adds complications when you’ve decided to steal Park Min Hwan but you are something else.
I’m not even bothered by you sleeping with Min Hwan, but all your schemes to ruin Ji Won? Those have surely bothered me. You posed as Ji Won’s best friend and made her feel like you were the only person there for her. But behind that facade, you were actually taking everything from her and ruining her life.
You always want everything that Ji Won has. Are you that unoriginal? You don’t have your own goals?
You even go as far as copying her handwriting to stop a potential suitor from pursuing Ji Won when you were younger. Then you did it again when to wreck her reputation at work.
Women should lift each other up and not the other way around. You're most probably threatened or insecure about Ji Won hence that behavior.
You're even worse than simply being someone's sidepiece. You pretend to be Ji Won's best friend, her ally, her confidante, but you're the total opposite. A friend's betrayal is worse and more painful than a romantic partner's deception.
A friend's betrayal is worse and more painful than a romantic partner's deception.
Soo Min, you always weaponize your face card to get what you want. This "strategy" of yours can get exhausting. Girl, you are more than a pretty face, and ruining a friendship over a guy is not it. Don't waste your life over a man. It is not worth it. You are more than that! Besides, beauty fades but good character remains.
I know you're unaware of this ~plot~ ('cos hey you're a fictional character, LOL), but Ji Won is lucky because she gets a second chance at life. She knows how things panned out before, and now has a better way of responding to things, especially your schemes. All the times she uncovered your evil plans were so satisfying to watch. It’s just funny that you never seem to learn your lesson.
Well, for what it’s worth, you’ll finally get what you want. You’ll marry Min Hwan, whom you think is a catch. You’ll soon find out that he’s not all that.
Karma is b*tch just like you. You'll never be Ji Won, and maybe that's the best revenge she can serve you.
To Song Ha Yoon, the actress who portrays Soo Min in Marry My Husband
You are an amazing actress! You’ve portrayed the most hateable character in K-dramas with cheating tropes. I can’t believe that the same actress whom I adored in Fight For My Way is now making my blood boil, LOL! I'm excited for the next episodes and I can’t wait to see you in more projects.
Catch new Marry My Husband episodes on Prime Video every Monday and Tuesday, 7:50 p.m. The K-drama stars Park Min Young (Kang Ji Won), Na In Woo (Yoo Ji Hyuk), Song Ha Yoo (Jung Soo Min), and Lee Yi Kyung (Park Minwhan).
