Following her *viral* video where she mispronounced the word "sub-unit," Dianne Medina corrected herself by posting a short clip on Instagram.
ICYMI, the Rise And Shine Pilipinas host trended after she pronounced "sub-unit" as "sooboonit" while talking about TWICE's MiSaMo—which comprises Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo.
Netizens were quick to point out Dianne's mistake, saying that she could have done research first. In her defense, the host explained that a dash was not included in the prompter reason why she read "sub-unit" differently.

"Never ko tinake as kahihiyan 'coz I know God allowed this to happen so I will learn from this mistake. Unless ikaw perfect ka siguro. Ako kasi hindi kaya okay lang magkamali," Dianne wrote in the comments when someone remarked that she "trended because of kahihiyan."

The next day, Dianne uploaded a video where she corrected her pronunciation. However, another netizen said: "Subunit naman kasi ang correct word hindi sub-unit" to which she replied, "Yes, pero kasi since wala akong alam sa K-pop mas okay sana kung nalagyan ng space so na-guide ako. Na-assume ko kasi na Japanese word. Although dapat rin as a host nag-search ako and didn't rely on sa prompter. Anyway, at least I know my lesson now."
"Sub-unit" is a term used in the K-pop world which refers to a smaller group from an existing group. This may come in the form of a duo, trio, quartet, and more. Apart from TWICE's MiSaMo, other sub-units are SEVENTEEN's BSS (BooSeokSoon), BIGBANG's GD x TAEYANG, Super Junior's D&E, and Red Velvet's Irene & Seulgi.
