The veteran performer is always looking for new opportunities to meet her PH Daralings and Blackjacks. Unfortunately, her latest event—AWAKE: A New Beginning, a music festival in Cebu City scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2023—has been postponed. MARK Entertainment and Events announced on Friday, September 15, that it was due to "unforeseen circumstances and unpredictable weather conditions." Further information regarding the rescheduled dates will be announced "soon."
In her initial tweet on Sunday, September 17, the K-pop idol apologized for the disappointment: "I’m so sad and sorry for my fans coz of the cebu concert. I’m also very very sad and disappointed with what happened. I was preparing a lot for the show. But there is always next time so pls [prayer hands emoji] I hope you guys are ok and don’t forget I’ll always be here for my Daralings and Blackjacks. #staystrongdara #staystrongdaralings"
Due to scheduling issues, the Hallyu star is also not going to be attending Paris Fashion Week this year. "And I’m not going to PFW this year. I was supposed to be in other country for work end of this month but unforfunately, it just got canceled too. what is happening.. [crying emoji] my god. Dara tried to console her fans (and herself) in a more positive tweet. "There is always ups and downs in life. Honestly, I’m not feeling good but how much more Daralings and Blackjacks feel…. U guys are always happier than me during my good times and more sad and hurt during my bad times. But There’s a rainbow always after the rain [cloud emoji, soon arrow emoji, rainbow emoji] I love you guys [pleading face emoji]"
At the end of the day, our Pambansang Krung Krung said her priority is to meet her fans onstage. "I love fashion and I super enjoy attending fashion events but I think Performing onstage > Fashion events. I can still go to fashion week next yr but I was really excited to meet my fans onstage again in different cities. Hoping for more shows in the future [prayer hands emoji] We are still young!!! [fire emoji x 3]"
Earlier in March 2023, Neuwave Events announced that Dara would be hosting EPICON on April 1st at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds—and that 2NE1 groupmate Minzy would be one of the performing artists. But on March 22, the production company took to Twitter to inform ticket holders that the concert had been postponed due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Dara was also supposed to be one of the headliners for The Super Stage By K-Pop concert alongside MAMAMOO+, Kep1er, and Lapillus, which was set to take place at the Mall of Asia Arena on August 11, 2023. However, on Tuesday, July 25, promoter OctoArts Entertainment announced on Twitter that the event was canceled.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that BLACKJACKS and Daralings will get to see their fave up close at Dara's next event in the PH!
