We ushered in 2020 with open arms and a fresh vibe, but did you know that in addition to the hope this new decade brings, we're also getting an ~extra~ day? If you check your calendars, you'll see: February 29. A first since the last leap year, 2016!

Normal years (or common years) have 365 days, with the month of February only having 28 days. Leap years, on the other hand, have 366 days—a corrective move to make sure our calendar stays aligned with the seasonal year.

As you probably already know, leap years happen every four years, but every 100 years, we skip a leap year unless it's divisible by 400. For example, 1900 was not a leap year, but 2000 was.

Fun fact: A person born on February 29 is called a "leapling." And if this applies to you, how are you celebrating your birthday this year, CG?
