Aerie's New Ad Campaign Features Unretouched Photos of Girls in Lingerie

American Eagle's lingerie line, Aerie, aims to challenge supermodel standards through unretouched photos of lingerie models.

In a world where virtually anyone can alter how they look in pictures via Photoshop, filters, and other photo editing software, it’s refreshing to see a major fashion brand encouraging women to do the opposite.

We love the concept behind this ad campaign by aerie, the lingerie line of US clothing brand American Eagle. The ads feature real girls in their unaltered, natural state. Photoshop was not used to retouch any photos.

aerie explained in a press release that its ads aim to “[challenge] supermodel standards by featuring unretouched models in [the brand's] latest collection of bras, undies, and apparel.”
