This Professional Singer Now Teaches Online Vocal Lessons To Students From All Over World
A lot of activities have been put on hold since the start of the quarantine, and several of those fall under the events and entertainment industries. Concerts and shows are getting postponed, if not canceled, and some careers are also being affected. But for one Pinay, the current situation actually inspired her even more to continue pursuing her passion.
Meet Bianca Lopez—a former member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, a soprano/classical soloist, and a vocal coach. She's a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Music Vocal Performance and has starred in several productions at the CCP and Maybank Performing Arts Theatre. Currently, she is teaching online vocal lessons to students of all ages and levels.
"Before quarantine, my events and programs that I was supposed to sing into were getting canceled na. So I was thinking of ways to sustain my singing and my teaching, because I was teaching privately before. So I thought, why not have my voice lessons online?" Bianca shared.
It all started with a callout on Facebook, and to her surprise, several people were interested in signing up. She currently has students from the Philippines, Malaysia, United States, and Switzerland, to name a few. Bianca also mentioned that her foreign students learned about the classes through word of mouth. Apart from this, she also has enrollees from her connections with host families abroad because she toured with the Philippine Madrigal Singers.
