Trigger warning: Unhealthy dieting or starvation diet
Chie Filomeno doesn't shy away from showing off her bod. If you follow her on IG, you would know that she loves posting bikini pics. Previously, the 25-year-old actress also put her curves on display in a sultry shoot as Ginebra's 2022 calendar girl. According to Chie, she wants to inspire others, especially those who are petite and flat-chested like her, to embrace what they've got.
"Gusto ko kasi ako rin 'yung epitome of mga petite girls na hindi comfortable sa body nila kasi petite sila. Sinasabihan sila na, 'Ang payat payat mo na. Kumain ka nga.' We eat. We eat a lot," she said when asked where she gets her confidence in posing in bikinis, during the press conference of her upcoming series Beach Bros. "It's a matter of what you feed your mind also and your body. Siyempre, I watch what I eat. Balance lang and confidence."
Admittedly, Chie said that there was a time when she didn't feel comfortable in her own skin. "Hindi overnight yan, eh. Hinanap ko din po yung confidence ko na matagal nawala."
In an interview with Push.com.ph, the Beach Bros star opened up about how she stays fit. "I give my body what it needs. Hindi ko dini-deprive 'yung body ko kasi hindi ako naniniwala sa diet na you have to starve yourself," she revealed. Chie stressed out, however, that every body is different. Not every diet out there will work for you, so it's important to listen to your body.
"Iba iba kasi tayo ng katawan. Iba iba din yung kailangan ng katawan natin so kailangan talaga natin alamin kung ano yung kailangan ng katawan natin," she explained. Admittedly, Chie said that she tried out all sorts of diets. "Dumaan ako sa tubig lang yung iniinom ko, yung mga ganun. Yung mga diet na hindi naman nag-wo-work sa akin. Ang daming diet diyan."
But eventually, she realized, "Ang nag-work sa akin yung kailangan talaga yung masipag. Hindi naman ako gumising na ganito na yung katawan ko. Talagang we work hard for it. Kakain tapos mag-wo-workout tapos kakain. Ganun talaga ako."
You do you, Chie!
