And now we present: Emma Watson explains some pretty basic shit about feminism, yet again.
Last time we visited this story, some dopes were saying Emma couldn't pose with her shirt unbuttoned and still be a feminist. Of course, that's bullshit; feminism is simply about equality, and equality means women have the same options men do. One of those options? The choice to pose topless if they want to.
In an interview with The Telegraph about Beauty and the Beast, she breaks it down.
"Feminism is about giving women choice," Emma said. "Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women."
She further explained that feminism is about empowerment and individual choice.
"I'm always just quietly stunned," she said, as her co-star, Dan Stevens, interrupted her to ask what people were saying. "They were saying that I couldn't be a feminist and have boobs," she responded.
Too true! And what she wants to do with those boobs has no impact on her feelings about equality. It doesn't seem like rocket science to me, but it's apparently baffling to some folks. Pretty sure we need to start teaching, "How To Be a Person," classes in high school. Lesson #1: People can do what they want with their bodies and you don't need to comment on it. IMAGINE THAT!
