Do you sometimes reminisce about your office lunch break food? Was one of the meals you miss Ate Rica's Bacsilog? Because, honestly, same. We always crave that rice bowl, too. There was something about it that will make you come back for more! Let's decode the main elements of the original bacsilog meal:
- Lots of rice - Who will say no to rice, right?
- Bacon strips - Always a winner!
- Fried egg - It's not a -silog without the itlog.
- Cheesy sauce - *The* creamy and savory sauce completes the meal.
Several Ate Rica's Bacsilog branches are open during quarantine, but if you fall under any of these categories—live far away from these locations, you don't want to spend a lot on delivery, you crave a bowl at midnight—then you might want to check out the recipe we're about to share.
Bacon strips, a sunny side up egg, and fried rice are all easy to source, so making your own version of Ate Rica's Bacsilog lies in concocting their signature cheesy sauce. Apparently, you'll only need these ingredients:
Ate Rica's Bacsilog Copycat Cheese Sauce Recipe
- 1/4 cup butter
- 82 grams grated quick-melting cheese
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Knorr seasoning
In medium heat, melt the butter and then add the grated cheese. When the two ingredients have combined, pour in the milk. Stir in the liquid seasoning. Let it simmer for a few minutes and you're done! Top it on warm rice, crispy bacon, and a fried egg.
