1. Hop Yik Tai
Location: 121 Kwelin Street, Sham Shui Po
This place serves, arguably, the best cheung fun (rice noodle roll) in the city! Don’t worry, you won’t miss it—just look for the spot with the longest takeout line. Order cheung fun with sweet soya sauce, peanut sauce, or—my personal fave—hoisin sauce.
2. Kei Tsui Cake Shop
Location: 135 Fa Yuen Street
When you need a sweet reprieve from the crazy retail therapy, Kei Tsui is known for its old-school snacks like egg tarts, chicken biscuits, and sweetheart cakes. Both locals and tourists can’t get enough!
3. Kwan Kee Claypot Rice
Location: Fuk Wa Street, Sham Shui Po
If you’re in the mood for something that tastes comforting and delicious, you can’t go wrong with some claypot rice meals. And yes, they taste as good as they look. We recommend the one with Chinese sausage toppings. ;)
4. Sun Kee Noodles
Location: 49 Tang Lung Street, Causeway Bay
Looking for something convenient and affordable? Sun Kee Noodles delivers. All you have to do is point out to the vendor what you want in your bowl, and you’re golden.
5. Kam’s Roast Goose
Location: 226 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai
Two words: Roast meats. They have char siu, barbecued pork, and suckling pig. It’s a long wait, but you won’t regret it. You’d be remiss to leave Hong Kong without dropping by.
