Researchers at the Michigan State University have been working on a way to categorize the different types of drinkers that exist in the world. And no, we don't mean "the prosecco drinker who loves brunch," or "the gin and tonic at 7 p.m. kind of drinker." We mean the way in which you drink and taste wine—and what your typical preferences may be.
These, they call: vinotypes. Fancy.
The Independent reports that there are four main categories of vinotypes: the sweet, the hypersensitive, the sensitive and the tolerant.
Which one are you? Read the descriptions to find out.
If you're picky about what wine you're drinking and tend to prefer something that is light, sweet, and not too full or flavorsome. You probably really like soda.
You're relatively picky about your wine but are sometimes open to trying something new if it sounds straightforward. Most likely to complain about TV volume and room temperature, apparently!
You're as free-spirited with your wine as you are in life—adventurous and flexible.
These decisive drinkers like their wine full-bodied and bursting with flavor. Likely to enjoy strong cheese and coffee, too.
So the next time you look at a wine menu, think if any of the above applies to you, and help it inform your choice of booze!
