Hi! It's me, your carb-obsessed, sweet-toothed editor. Lately, I've been binge-watching Korean and Japanese vlogs which led me to be curious about one particular snack: Japanese fruit sandwiches, aka Japanese fruit sandos!

Wait, what's a Japanese fruit sando?

In Japan, they call sandwiches, "sando." Each sandwich is made of two slices of Japanese milk bread, a *thicc* whipped cream, and diced fruits. The most commonly used fruits are strawberries, green grapes, and kiwis.

It can be found in Japanese convenience stores, cafes, and supermarkets. Aside from being a yummy snack, it's very Instagrammable, too!

Can I make Japanese fruit sandwiches myself?

Yes, of course! All you need is to buy sweet milky bread (I personally recommend Baker John Premium Milk Loaf). Take once slice and smear a thick slab of chilled whipped cream. Add sliced fruits, place the other slice on top. Wrap with aluminum foil or parchment paper to keep everything together. Refrigerate and slice to reveal the #aesthetic layers.
