Eggs are fairly simple to make. You can probably cook one without giving it much thought. My perfect recipe involves mixing two eggs, some milk, salt, pepper, and green onions together; I'd prefer it with bacon bits but it's not necessary. If you're trying to figure out how else you could be enjoying your eggs, here are a eight solid options:
Sunny Side Up
You've probably already done this at least once in your life, but do you know how to get it perfect every time? Heat the oil in a nonstick ceramic pan (if available), then let the egg cook for around two minutes. You'll know it's ready when the sides turn crispy and brown, with the whites fully set but the yolk still runny.
Ok, everybody has their own take when it comes to scrambled eggs. Some like it more wet, while others prefer 'em fluffy. Chef Jamie Oliver does them three different ways:
Soft + Hard Boiled
A soft or hard boiled egg can be a pretty satisfying snack. In medium to high heat, you can boil several eggs at once. Cover it for a few minutes, depending on how cooked you want the eggs. Leave it alone for five minutes if you want it soft boiled; more than 10 minutes for hard boiled. Then take the eggs and dunk them in ice cold water for another 10 to 15 minutes.
Omelettes are made from fried eggs with butter or oil in a pan. Unless you're a purist, it's typical for an omelette to come with fillings like cheese, mushrooms, ham, spinach, olives, and so on—it's really up to you! I like to put white onions and green onions in mine.
Tamagoyaki (Egg Roll)
Basically, a Japanese omelette! This recipe has eggs, milk, carrots, onions, spring onions, salt, and pepper. Unlike a traditional omelette, you'll be rolling this egg several times instead of just folding it once.
This just *sounds* intimidating, but it's not as hard as it sounds! Plus, it's kind of fun to make. This tutorial involves a vortex! Place a poached egg on top of toast or vegetables if you want an elevated breakfast experience.
Oof, I gotta admit, I've never tried this, but I am so, so ready to! The first step is just to make hard boiled eggs (see #3). When they're ready, remove the yolks. Break the yolks then add mayo, dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well!
