IKEA Philippines is set to start operating in the third or fourth quarter of 2021, according to one of its officials. The construction of the furniture and home accessories store, set to be the world's largest, is progressing smoothly, reports say.
Said IKEA Southeast Asia development manager Georg Platzer, an e-commerce site will first be launched, followed by the opening of the physical store, which is situated near the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
On Friday, the Pasay City government announced that IKEA is hiring 500 workers from within the city. Applications are open for those interested to be a cashier, customer relations assistant, sales associate, or facilities technician, among others.
The retail outlet was supposed to open in early 2020. From what we know so far, it will be five storeys high and will house an IKEA Restaurant. Yes, we'll finally get to taste those famous Swedish meatballs soon!
