Whenever someone goes to Japan for vacation, more often than not, their chosen pasalubong for family, friends, and officemates is the same: KitKat. Everyone can probably agree that KitKats are never a bad idea, and the ones from Japan are *extra* special. They have more variety when it comes to flavors, and the packaging is also more beautiful.
Now, there's a third reason to love Japanese KitKats because at the end of September, they'll be swapping their plastic wrappers for paper ones. Nestle Japan made the announcement on their website.
This move is in line with Nestle's "ambition to make 100 percent of its packaging recyclable or re-usable by 2025." The new paper wrapper will make its debut via KitKat's larger products:
KitKat Mini Original
KitKat Mini Otona no Amasa
KitKat Mini Otona no Amasa Matcha
KitKat Mini Otona no Amasa Strong Matcha
Here is the KitKat Original pack with paper wrapper, which can be found in convenience stores.
People are encouraged to write on these wrappers and use them for origami to give to loved ones.
