If you've watched several K-dramas like True Beauty, you probably noticed one place where some of the characters usually go to for at least one scene—the Korean sauna or jjimjilbang. I remember when I started watching K-dramas, I was so curious about what it's like to experience one. It seemed like it was such a fun place to relax and bond with friends or family.
Imagine my pleasant surprise when I learned that we actually have the New Lasema Spa, a Korean jjimjilbang, right in the metro! The first thing I did was to invite one of my closest friends who is a big K-drama enthusiast as well to a Korean sauna date last weekend.
We went there on a Saturday morning and availed of the Jjimjilbang Package which allowed us 12 hours access to the jacuzzi, steam sauna, all kinds of kiln rooms, gym, entertainment room, and much more. The first thing we did? We grabbed some Korean snacks! Love the fish cakes and the iced sikhye, a sweet Korean rice drink.
After getting our stomachs full, we headed to the different kilns which had various themes and temperatures. The Pine Tree Kiln, the Himalayan Salt Kiln, and the Amethyst Kiln had varying degrees of hot temperature and different benefits per room.
We couldn't stay inside the Ochre Hot kiln because it was too hot, so we just took pictures outside and we opted to go straight to the Ice Room for a cool experience!
After finishing the kilns, we felt so relaxed we tried the sleeping caves and had a nice nap.
Once we woke up, we went to the mugwort room before going to the wet area (jacuzzi and hot baths) before taking a shower to refresh ourselves. Then, we went to the entertainment room to watch some K-dramas while eating ice cream!
Lastly, we took pictures in the Korean-inspired photo areas. And we just spent the whole day lounging around and relaxing while bonding with each other.
Before going home, we had so much fun that we talked about coming back to New Lasema Spa with our other friends soon! If you're looking for an authentic jjimjilbang experience, this is a must-try. You can definitely spend the whole day there to destress and relax!
