BEFORE
Jaymie had this room since she was a child, so you'll notice that her painted walls are already pale and are covered in scuff marks. "Ang dilim," she adds.
That said, Jaymie "started painting the walls, [but] realized how time-consuming it was, so I hired [a carpenter] and had the walls done in two days." She had her walls, drawers, and cabinets painted in fresh white, which helps reflect light really well. Jaymie also replaced her metal closet door handles with wooden ones she found from Shopee.
AFTER
Jaymie wanted to a minimalist look for her bedroom, and with a bit of creativity and resourcefulness, she was able to achieve that with a P15,000 budget.
According to Jaymie, she bought most of her room decor online (FB Marketplace, Shopee, and Mr. DIY). She also scored a lot affordable finds from the Dapitan Arcade like her wall mirror and fake hanging plants.
"Some of the [decor] such as the desk and the floating rack were DIY-ed by my dad. He only used some leftover plywood from one of his projects a few months ago. He was also the one who refurbished my old bed frame to give it a fresh look that would match the design of my room. Thanks to my dad, I didn’t have to buy new furniture or even pay labor."
"Another DIY is the lamp frame, which is just made out of an egg basket," shares Jaymie. The DIY piece surely added a relaxing vibe to Jaymie's newly-decorated bedroom.
