ICYDK, we have officially gone past the 500-day mark of being in quarantine. Life hasn't really been easy since we went into lockdown early last year—everyone tried to cope in many different ways, but we just really needed to see that much-needed light at the end of the tunnel. It also didn't help that we felt a sense of dread every time we had to go out for essentials since we were dealing with an invisible and deadly enemy.
Aside from dealing with the pandemic, we were also faced with the issue of burnout, whether it was with school or work. A lot of us felt forced to still excel and deliver even though the state of our mental health was at an all-time low. Work hours felt longer and the thin line between work and rest got blurry real fast.
Self-care became especially huge during the thick of the quarantine because let's face it, we deserve kudos for just simply trying to survive and get through each day during this pandemic. Setting aside a day solely for self-care will do wonders for your mental health, too.
In a video, Cosmo Vibe Tribe member Wis Ignacio detailed everything she did during her self-care day and stressed the importance of giving your body and mind a chance to rest and reset.
