1. He's more candid and comfortable around you.
He no longer feels the need to put his best foot forward (though his regular foot should still be kind and respectful) because you know each other well enough to be relaxed in the other's presence. If you can sit comfortably in silence by now, you know that you've made a different kind of connection.
2. He's comfortable about discussing personal matters.
Your conversations go way beyond mundane topics such as what he had for breakfast or how his day is doing; he doesn't mind opening up to you about things he wouldnât normally tell other people.
"A serious relationship type of guy talks to you about his vision for his life, his goals and his challenges. He's willing to share himself with you and show vulnerability," says Ravid Yosef, LA-based relationship coach and author of the e-book, Is He Relationship Material?.
Just make sure that he's doing so to share discoveries and not just for the sake of making kuwento. "Therein lies the difference in the man who is serious about you, versus the man who is NOT," Yosef adds.
3. He always includes you in making major decisions.
It could be about a job offer or a big move that could affect your relationship, either way, consulting with you before he decides can mean that your opinion matters—and that YOU are important to him.
4. He cares about your dreams and ambitions.
When he pays attention to your goals in life, and he helps or at least encourages you to achieve them, then that shows that your future is important to him. This shows that he can be a good partner in the long run. (Just make sure his actions speak louder than his words.)
5. You are always on his mind
...and his actions show it. "With most men, actions speak louder than words. A man who's focused on you will text you, call you, even email you on a consistent basis," says relationship coach Dr. D. Ivan Young.
"As time goes on, as the infatuation period wanes, the things that are at the core of your relationship will NOT diminish. If his pattern includes taking you to the movies, dinner, and cracking corny jokes or sending you silly emails, those things will remain consistent," he adds.
6. He doesn't play games anymore.
He's honest about his intentions and he doesn't shy away from proper conversations about your Most people play mind games because it makes them feel powerful and it allows them to avoid taking responsibility for other's feelings.
"The drawback of playing mind games is that you never really have an authentic relationship with people," says Gerald Schoenewolf, Ph.D. on PsychCentral. "Thus they never feel a deep loving connection that comes from honesty and trust."
7. You're surrounded by people who support your new relationship.
Seeing how his friends act and observing how they treat you are two ways to determine how he talks to them about you. His friends wouldn't make much of an effort to get to know you if they thought you were just going to be a month-long fling.
Remember, at the end of the day, the decision will rest on the both of you. Make sure that you are also ready to go serious before taking the leap! And if you feel that the guy you're seeing is looking to get serious and you're just not interested in him that way, make sure to let him know so you don't leave him hanging—just be honest and let him down easy.
