THIS JUST IN: Cute little panda bears are invading Malaysia! Okay, not actual pandas—they’re actually just paper mache replicas—but still.
The 1,600 Pandas World Tour, which started in 2008 as a collaboration between the World Wildlife Fund and acclaimed French artist Paulo Grangeon, has appeared in more than 100 exhibitions across countries such as France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. They will be stationed in Malaysia from December 21 to January 25, 2015. This will be the pandas’ third stop after Hong Kong in the Asian region. Unfortunately, the Philippines is not on their itinerary. Boo!
This project aims to raise awareness on the importance of panda conservation and sustainable development, symbolically encouraging Malaysians to be more aware of our natural environment and the need to conserve it.
So, is anyone else game to travel to Malaysia with us to stalk some pandas?
