It's never fun to leave the sun, sea, and sand (or whichever dream destination you're at) for an office desk and a full inbox. We get it. We've come up with a few tips to make your transition back to the office as painless as possible!
1. Plan ahead.
Get your work station ready for when you get back. Don't rush out of there without clearing your desk, organizing your files, and making sure it's pristine for when you return. Avoid undoing all the physical and emotional restoration you've done on vacation by minimizing the chaos.
2. Make a list of things you need to do first.
Do not go back to the office without a game plan! Not having a list of goals for the day can keep you from being productive. Help your mind switch from vacation mode to work mode, even if it's just something like organizing your inbox. Make sure to accomplish the bare minimum.
3. Do one thing at a time.
As much as we urge you to get things done, it's always best to not put that much pressure on yourself to "catch up." Not only will this put you in a bad mood, but you could also be sacrificing quality for quantity.
4. Bring snacks to work!
Take advantage of how much Pinoys love pasalubongs! This is a good way to prevent from completely leaving your vacation behind. Plus, it's a trick to distract the entire office from the daily work grind.
5. Play some tunes.
If food doesn't work, you can always put on some music. It'll help you power through the rest of your day.
6. Start yapping about future trips!
And we're not just talking about yours. People LOVE to talk about themselves and their plans. Ask them about their past trips, their favorite spots, or their dream destinations! We swear, it'll make the day go by faster.
7. Plan something for after work.
Knowing that you have something or someone to look forward to after a long day back at work might just be the motivation you need to stay productive.
8. Leave the office on time.
Just because you went on vacation doesn't mean you have to punish yourself by staying back after everyone has left. Don't feel bad for needing, wanting, and taking a break. You deserved it!
