Airbnb has opened up a world of accommodation possibilities all over the globe. From staying in houses shaped like shells and dogs to renting homes chiseled into caves or stranded on the seas, you can now live your best, most unusual life while on holiday.
But out of all the great-value apartments, luxury mansions and weird and wonderful holiday homes, which Airbnb is the most popular of them all?
Well, according to Airbnb it's a small, intimate property hidden in the trees, literally, in Aptos, California.
Perhaps no shock that during the age of the Insta-grid a treehouse in the wilderness that's a 10-minute walk from the beach is so in-demand, hey?
The "Mushroom Dome Cabin" has just one bedroom (unless you fancy sleeping out under the stars on the decking), and you reach it by climbing a set of stairs to a cute little annexe.
The property also has 10 acres of land, if you fancy going for a hike or looking for hummingbirds.
And guys, the "mushroom cap" is actually a geometric dome—meaning you can sleep right under the stars in the middle of nature, and see the milky way on a clear night. Just HOW perfect is that?
Unsurprisingly, the listing is pretty inundated with enquiries. It's been listed for nearly 10 years, and is the most-booked property ever on Airbnb. If you want to enjoy a one-night stay, you'll need to book five months in advance.
Worth it, though.
The property has incredible reviews from guests who've stayed there, and an overall five-star rating.
