Another year has begun, and no doubt, you’re already scheduling your next vacation with your boyfriend in your head. Who can blame you? Wanderlust, is after all, at its highest during this season of seat sales. If you and your man are always itching to travel, there’s no need to look further than our own beautiful country. The Philippines has got beaches, mountains, and all other sorts of sights worth spending time and money on. And instead of dropping your hard-earned cash on a ticket to a destination abroad, why not tick these seven places off of your couple-travel bucket list?
1. Paoay Sand Dunes
If you and your man are the type of couple that gets high on adrenaline, visiting this desert-like spot in Ilocos Norte will be quite the trip. Not only can you guys rent a jeep to take you on a rollercoaster ride up and down its steep hills, the view is pretty out of this world as well.
2. BenCab Museum
You two can be culture vultures while exploring the halls of Baguio’s famous museum. Be wowed by the many paintings, sculptures, and artifacts that this gem of a place has to offer. When you’re done soaking in all the art, grab a delectable meal at Café Sabel to wind down.
The ultra-chill ambience of the Mountain Province is best embodied by Sagada’s quiet streets. With cute coffee houses, cheap restaurants, and people who are super hospitable, you and your man won’t have a hard time finding proper rest and relaxation. Cuddle weather!
Beach bums can get their fill of sun and sea at this Boracay hideaway. Grab a cold cocktail, go for a swim, then hang out on their floating deck. Cue the magical sunset!
5. Flotsam and Jetsam
In the last two years or so, La Union has been buzzing with culture and creativity. And one of the coolest hostels in the San Juan area is this kitschy and quaint favorite. You and your guy need not be surfers to enjoy the accommodations, but testing out the waves won’t hurt one bit (or maybe it will).
The numerous islands of Coron, Palawan are surrounded by some of the most pristine waters and colorful corals one could ever find. Go snorkeling, diving, and dine on the freshest lobsters. If that isn’t romantic AF, we don’t know what is!
This 13-hectare slice of paradise is still not as popular as most beach locations in the country, but it’s slowly gaining traction for its white sand, blue waters, and crazy cool floating bar. Need we say more? Better book a ticket to Cadiz, Negros Occidental, stat!
