There’s another reason to visit Cebu aside from lechon and the 10,000 Roses Cafe in Cordova, Cebu. It is also home to Sirao Flower Garden, a local version of Amsterdam’s famous flower fields.

While the Amsterdam flower fields are lined with hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips, the Sirao Flower Garden has celosias, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, daisies, and asters that are just as colorful and pretty.

The garden started when a couple planted flowering plants originally intended to be harvested for All Soul's Day.

The flower garden has already caught the eye of many a few years back. Since then, locals have been adding to the attraction, sprucing up the sight with windmills, a gazebo, and statues to entice more visitors.

Take note, however, that there are two flower gardens in this location. The original Sirao Flower Garden is situated a few meters away from the Sirao Pictorial Garden and Camping Site that has a swimming pool open for the public.

The garden opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 6:30 p.m. for all visitors and 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for campers. There is an entrance fee of P50 for the flower garden and an additional P100 for pool use. Freshly-picked flowers and potted plants are also for sale. Farmers start to plant flowers in July and their harvest period is on the week of October, so better plan your trip (and your outfits) well!
