One of the best things about Metro Manila’s chicest business district is that it is constantly growing and evolving. So, even if you think you’ve done it all—trust us—there is so much more. This is why we’ve compiled an updated list of fun things to do in BGC. Whether you’re looking for a spot to wait out the traffic or a few activities to fill your weekend, we’ve got you covered.

  1. Venice Grand Canal

For a taste of Italian drama, head to Venice Grand Canal Mall in the McKinley neighborhood. Right in the middle of this romantic setting is a turquoise “river” open to visitors interested in taking a gondola ride under the stars (or sun!). Cap off your night—whether you’re on a date, with friends, or showing yourself some self-love—at one of the eateries overlooking the water. And then let the experience transport you to another world!

  2. Harlan + Holden Coffee

This One Bonifacio High Street cafe is the brainchild of Harlan + Holden, the clothing line renowned for embodying lightness and ease. Thankfully for all of us caffeine-fueled folk, the same philosophy is present in their coffee shop. Not only does this minimalist cafe provide a relaxing and aesthetically-pleasing environment in a very convenient location—but they also offer an app that makes it so that you don’t have to interact with a single person before your coffee kicks in!

  3. Elephant Grounds

Looking for a cute hangout with great coffee and equally delicious food? Elephant Grounds is a beautiful restaurant that welcomes all. Whether you’re with your family (including those energetic nieces and nephews), or settling in for a solo study session, you can be comfortable here. Location-independent workers, especially, will love the stadium seating that offers just the right amount of table space for a laptop, drink, and snack.

  4. Loft Bar+Cafe

From the brains behind long-time BGC fixture Unit 27 comes Loft Bar+Cafe. Just like its predecessor, this well-designed space that features brick walls, natural light, and quirky features like a wooden moose head, treats guests as “housemates” and invites them to experience the restaurant as if it is a second home. Boasting all-day brunches nighttime house parties, Loft is a great place to kick off your evening on the town.

  5. The Bowery

The Bowery is one of BGC’s best restaurants. Having upheld the highest quality in food, drinks, and service for five years running, it’s no wonder that this slice of New York City continues to draw party-goers and food-lovers alike. This bar and restaurant is chic enough for romantic dates or the killer outfit you’ve been saving for a nightout with the girls. But because its owners are constantly innovating their drink and food menu, The Bowery is also able to offer what you need for an after-work bite or even a hungover brunch. No pretense or dress code to abide by! If you go—and you should—the Death by Chocolate Cake is an absolute must-try.

  6. Yes Please

This Uptown BGC bar is for ’90s afficionados. Not only will you love the nostalgic names given to their drinks—you will also love the drinks. Whether you’re trying to party hard, or just looking for something delicious to sip on, this bar (which does offer food!) has some of the best libations the neighborhood has to offer. Once you’re inside, let loose. This isn’t one of those stuffy establishments that requires you to stay in your seat and be quiet. Get up, dance, play foosball, make new friends—it’s all welcome here.

  7. Shake Shack

If the long lines have been deterring you, we’re here to answer your lingering question: Yes! The burgers are worth the hype. They even have a vegetarian option for non-meat-eating folks. Despite the massive crowd, the professionals behind the counter are able to move the cue efficiently, so that customers can experience what Shake Shack is all about. Our suggestion: Go with a small group or at off-peak hours.

  8. Track 30

Heading to BGC doesn’t mean having to spend your hard-earned money on meals and shopping. Believe it or not, there are fun things to do for free. One of the places you can enjoy without having to take out your wallet is the running track on 30th street. The best time to go is after sundown, when you can do a few laps around a tree-lined path, do an outdoor yoga session, hang out with friends, or make new ones.

  9. Saddle Row

If you’re looking to blow off some steam or burn off one of the decadent meals suggested above, sign up for a cycling, rowing, or combination cycling and rowing class at Saddle Row. Work up a sweat in a beautiful studio with instructors who are warm, friendly, and interested in helping you improve your health.

  10. Spa at Kerry Sports Manila

For a truly rejuvenating spa session, head to Shangri-La Hotel, At the Fort. The spa there offers luxury treatments including massages, facials, body scrubs, anti-aging enhancements, jet lag recovery sessions, and even workouts.
