Actress, author, and singer Alex Gonzaga had the funniest music session with former The Voice of the Philippines contestant, singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre and Moira’s boyfriend, musician Jason Marvin. Also with the group was Alex’s boyfriend Mikee Morada, who spent most of his time laughing at his girlfriend’s hilarious antics. The video blog was published on December 16, 2017 on Alex’s official YouTube page. In the About section of the page, Alex wrote, “It’s time for the music industry to finally accept me.”
The video began with Alex giving Moira some “tips” on singing:
- When you sing, make sure that you open your mouth, ‘cause you can’t sing if it’s closed.
- Modulate. Instead of like shouting, you have to really circle the voice.
- You have to feel it.
- Lastly, have talent. So if you don’t have talent, don’t sing na lang. So luckily, you have talent.
After countless LOL moments, including Alex vaguely translating Ed Sheeran’s song “Perfect” into Filipino, the foursome also tried to finish a song together, but failed.
As of press time, the video has more than 190,000 views and more than 2,000 comments. Yesterday, Alex expressed on her Twitter account her reaction—another funny one—to the comments.
She wrote, “Reading all your comments on my latest vlog. 'Di ko alam kung mata-touch ako. Kumanta naman kami pareho pero bakit 'Moira is so talented and Alex is “funny”'?? Hahaha Thank you pa rin! Love y'all!”
Moira is the soulful voice behind the hit song “Malaya,” the theme song of the movie Camp Sawi, and “Titibo-Tibo,” the Himig Handog 2017 songwriting competition winner. She is set to release her album Malaya and have her first solo concert in February 2018.
