Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella has announced the extension of the city's enhanced community quarantine, saying, "In light of the increasing number of individuals found positive of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and based on the recommendations of our health experts in the city, I have decided to extend the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) being implemented in the entire city until May 15, 2020."
Mayor Labella added that confirmed cases in the city continue to rise because they have been doing "targeted, mass testing of residents in barangays where there are positive cases." He will issue the executive order next week.
Meanwhile, Luzon is still under enhanced community quarantine, which is scheduled to end on April 30. President Rodrigo Duterte announced that he will decide on whether to extend the lockdown or not on Thursday, April 23.
