Engaged couples are getting more and more creative, and a pre-wedding film is fast going viral for showcasing the Philippines' heritage.
Entitled Jolo and Ina: Pre-Wedding Film, the save-the-date movie by videographer Artofgelo has now earned more than 7,000 reactions and has been shared around 2,800 times. It was inspired by the film Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, starring Paulo Avelino.
The video's thumbnail hearkens back to the time of the Spanish occupation, featuring the couple, Jolo and Ina, clad in the common attire worn during the era. Jolo wears General Gregorio del Pilar's familiar military uniform, while Ina wears a traditional Maria Clara gown.
Apart from the film's scenic location, what's most striking is Jolo and Ina's voice over, which was inspired by a fictional love letter of Andres Bonifacio to Gregoria De Jesus. The original piece was composed by Eljay Castro Deldoc, a playwright, actor, director, and educator.
Here are some of the most memorable (and romantic!) lines from the pre-wedding film:
Nothing is as beautiful as the Filipino language, and this pre-wedding film makes us look back on the days when sweet words and poetry were the ways to a woman's heart.
