If you've ever dreamed of going to the moon, then you might want to apply as Yusaku Maezawa's girlfriend.
ICYDK, Yusaku is a 44-year-old Japanese billionaire searching for a female companion to accompany him on an actual private flight to the moon in 2023. The mogul posted a call for applicants on his Twitter account on January 12.
"WANTED: Why not be the 'first woman' to travel to the moon?" his tweet read.
Yusaku also launched the campaign via a post on a Japanese video-streaming website, saying, "I’m sure I’ve been able to acquire my share of money, social status, and fame along the way. But now I’m restarting my life. I’m 44 now. As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there’s one thing that I think about: Continuing to love one woman. I want to find a ‘life partner.’ With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space."
Yusaku recently broke up with Japanese actress Ayame Goriki. He is the founder and former chief of Japan's largest fashion retailer, Zozotown. In 2018, he announced that he would be the first passenger to privately fly to the moon via SpaceX, a company owned by Elon Musk, the CEO and founder of automotive and energy company Tesla.
The deadline for applications is on January 17, 2020. The female hopefuls must be "bright and positive," with an interest in space travel. The winning applicant will be announced at the end of March 2020.
